Hello there, welcome to my book blog, I'm so excited to share my love of books with you. As a fellow bookworm, there are genres which are my favorite and I always end up coming back to them, but I'm always on the lookout for new books and stories to explore. In this post, I'll be sharing some of my favorite book genres as well as some upcoming bookish adventures I'm excited to go on.

Fantasy

This is my all-time favorite genre. I love getting lost in a whole new world totally different from ours. I love the magic, the mystical creatures, following epic quests, the world building, it's just so fantastic. Fantasy allows me escape reality for a bit and immerse myself in a new world. There are also so many sub-genres to explore in fantasy. Fantasy also allows authors explore a new set of rules when world building which I love. It's fascinating to see how different authors bring their worlds to life. Fantasy is a genre that has something for everyone and I highly recommend this genre if you haven't checked it out before. Some of favorite Fantasy books are, The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling, Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, The cruel prince by Holly Black, All souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness

Mystery

One of the things I appreciate about mystery is the way it can intersect with other genres such as historical fiction or science fiction. An example of this is stalking Jack the ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. I love trying to solve the puzzle with the characters and the feeling of satisfaction when everything finally clicks into place. Mystery always keeps on the edge of my seat.

Science Fiction

I'm only recently getting into science fiction, I didn't really like it before, I'm not sure why, but I'm starting to get hooked. I love the way it explores big ideas and possibilities while still being grounded in believable characters. Some Sci-fi books I've enjoyed are: Ender's game by Orson Scott Card, The lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, and the Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Romance

I've always loved romance. I'm a lover girl, a romantic at heart. There's just something about the love stories, the steamy scenes, and happy endings, I mean, who doesn't want a happy ending?. Another thing I appreciate about romance is the way it explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery while also providing a satisfying reading experience. While some can be predictable, sometimes it really works. Some of my favorites include, the flatshare by Beth O' Leary, The Bride Test by Helen Hoang,

Young Adult

This is a genre I'll always love even though I'm no longer a teenager, I'm always excited to continue exploring it. Some of my favorites include, The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins , Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.

As for my upcoming bookish adventures, I'm excited to participate in a virtual book club with other book lovers. We're reading the Hating Game by Sally Thorne, and we'll be discussing it tomorrow.

If you're looking for a good book to read, I recommend checking out any of the books I mentioned above and you can also explore the different genres on your own. I'm also looking for new books to read, and genres to explore, so if you can recommend something for me in the comments, I'll really appreciate it. What are some of your favorite book genres? Are there any bookish adventures you're excited to embark on? Please let me know in the comments below. Happy Reading!
